“Jatt Nuu Chudail Takri,” directed by Vikas Vashisht and featuring Gippy Grewal and Sargun Mehta, presents a light-hearted take on a social issue within the framework of a horror-comedy. Penned by Amberdeep Singh, the film navigates themes of gender dynamics in a patriarchal society, using the label “chudail” or witch to delve into men’s attitudes towards women.

The story follows Jalaluddin (Gippy Grewal) and his friends, who, fed up with their wives’ constant quarrels, entertain the idea of divorcing them. However, Jalaluddin’s perspective shifts when he himself marries Rani (Sargun Mehta), a woman who turns out to be a genuine witch seeking to teach him a lesson. As Jalaluddin attempts to rid himself of her, comedic chaos ensues, leading to unexpected complications when he remarries.

While the film aims for a laugh-a-minute experience with witty dialogues and humorous situations, it occasionally falls short due to repetitive comedic tropes and a meandering plot. Despite this, “Jatt Nuu Chudail Takri” boasts impressive visual effects and cinematography, along with standout performances from veteran actors Nirmal Rishi and BN Sharma.

Sargun Mehta, in a pivotal role, delivers a relatively strong performance but fails to fully embrace the fun of her character’s magical abilities. Roopi Gill shines with her spirited portrayal, adding depth to the narrative. With beautiful romantic tracks enhancing the storytelling, the film offers entertainment suitable for family audiences, although its lengthy runtime may test viewers’ patience.
