Khel Khel Mein trailer: Mudassar Aziz’s dramedy starring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan and others, will release on August 15.

Khel Khel Mein trailer: Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu are reuniting again, but in a project unlike what they’ve done together before. After spy thrillers like Baby and Naam Shabana, and real life-based inspirational stories like Mission Mangal, the duo will next be seen in a dramedy on friendships and secrets.

What’s in the trailer?

The trailer of Khel Khel Mein opens by introducing everyone to the plot, which centres around seven friends who gather for a dinner party and end up playing a game in a room. All of them surrender their phones, after which the secrets and lies begin to unravel, exposing hidden truths about each other. There’s Akshay’s character liking bikini pictures on Instagram and lying to his wife, played by his Bell Bottom co-star Vaani Kapoor. There’s also a Tiger Shroff joke slid in by his Bade Miyan Chote Miyan co-star Tiger Shroff.

About the film

Taapsee seems to be in a comic role here and she embraces her Sardarni within. Other cast members include Fardeen Khan, recently loved for his turn in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Netflix India period drama Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and reuniting with his Heyy Babyy co-star Akshay Kumar. Ammy Virk, recently seen in Bad Newz, round off the cast along with Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal.

Khel Khel Mein is directed by Mudassar Aziz of Happy Bhag Jayegi and Pati, Patni Aur Woh-fame. It’s co-written by him and Sara Bodinar, and produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.

Khel Khel Mein, earlier slated to release in September, will now hit the cinemas on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15. It will clash with two other Bollywood tentpoles – Nikkhil Advani’s action thriller Vedaa, starring John Abraham, Sharvari Wagh, and Abhishek Banerjee, and Stree 2, Amar Kaushik’s sequel to his 2018 blockbuster. Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana will reprise their roles from the horror comedy. Stree 2 also features a special dance number by Tamannaah Bhatia.
